1. Antivirus or antispyware software is out of date.
If you have been on the Internet you have certainly noticed the amount of advertising that tells you about all the registry cleaners, pc optimizers and countless other software that can "fix" your computer. The reality is much of this software is worthless and made by people who are looking to make a quick buck. At PC HOUSE CALLS we make sure that you are not getting scammed by these ads and that your antivirus is up to date and working properly. It is very important to make sure your antivirus is updating on a daily basis since new viruses and Trojans come out on an hourly basis.

2. Microsoft Update Patches are not being applied.
A common issue we see at PC HOUSE CALLS is a user not applying Microsoft patches on a regular basis. This leads to the computer being exploited when going to a malicious website. If you go to a website that may have spyware or adware and you do not have the proper Microsoft patches then it becomes open for a malicious piece of software to install itself on your machine. Once this occurs that piece of software can do anything that you can do. That means stealing your personal information, documents, and passwords when logging into websites. This information is not meant to scare you, but simply inform you that there is a lot to know about when it comes to security on your PC. We can automate much of this stuff so you don't have to worry about it in the future.

3. Speeding up a slow computer.
A common question we get is how do I speed up my computer. Over time computers get slower because newer programs are being installed and your hard drive becomes defragmented. You should always remove unnecessary programs that are no longer being used and make sure you defragment your hard drive. In addition, our technicians also optimize your boot speed to make sure unneeded programs are not loaded during boot time.
